Welcome to NoobLearns | First Blog Post | Welcome Message

Digital Marketing and Strategy is a buzzword in the twenty-first century, so I decided to do a digital marketing course and the first thing we were told to do was to create a blog and apply all the digital marketing strategy and tactics on this new blog. So, Hi. Welcome to my new digital venture - NoobLearns.
What is or why did I name this NoobLearns? But first let us understand the meaning of noob, as a few people asked me. “Is calling someone noob an insult?” – This is Google’s first search suggestion. Well in Sports it’s considered a slang. The dictionary meaning of a noob is “A newbie who is new to an idea, concept or a game, simply - an inexperienced individual”. Maybe that’s what Flintoff said to Yuvraj Singh in the 2007 - T20 Cricket World Cup.

Someone mentioned - it is slang, only if we feel insulted by it. COOL!! Another apt description from Google I got is someone who is very new to the rules of a community. This description is the reason why I decided to name my blog NoobLearns because all this – ‘Digital Marketing, writing blogs, noting down my thoughts and insights’ is very new to me.

Now the main part what should the blog be about. Advice received was to start writing on things that interest me, and list down those interests and funnel into specific topics that might be interesting to a set of consumers. This is the hardest part, more research you do more confusing it gets. So I have decided to write on lesser-known but interesting facts that’s happening around us and around the world, easy recipes for a beginner with important tips and tricks and here is a list that interests me –

1. Current Affairs and World and Indian History – keeping tabs on the news on what’s happening around us, how changes around us are going to affect our livelihood. And history interests me because it gives us a sense of the current world, tells us how we have reached here, more specifically teaches us what not to do, to go down a dark path.

2. Sports more specifically Cricket – Every day I begin my newspaper from the Sports column and yes being an Indian, I eat, sleep and breathe cricket because that’s the only thing that was telecasted on a bigger scale since my childhood. People don’t like how long the matches are but that’s the fun of cricket, even after playing a Test for five days chances are the match might end in a draw. I love watching the Test format, I agree T20 is short and exciting and brings more money, but Test Cricket – is a game of 20 per cent physical ability/talent + 80 per cent mental strength. The best Test team is the most superior team in the world of cricket.

3. Movies and music – the love for movies is not new for any Indian. India produces the highest number of movies in the world, i.e., around 2000+ and in a year there are at least 10 to 20 movies with excellent plot and story-telling from Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood, Mollywood, Pollywood etc.

4. Mobile Phones – Small computers in our hands. I did not have a mobile phone until my 12th class, unlike all my other classmates. That’s why I have a fascination with researching the best mobile phones in the market. Funny thing, my opinion was important on which phones to buy, ever since my dad got me the first phone I wished for (it looked beautiful, functioned better and was under the budget I was given compared to other family member’s phone at that time).

5. Data Science – In Graduation data science subject was taught us as an introduction in the final semester of the final year. But as saying goes I tasted blood when I started working for a company in the data science field and I got to know the real-life benefits and opportunities of pursuing a career in this.

6. Food / Cooking/ Travel – trying new food, cuisines are all part of experiencing various cultures in the world. I will try anything but not weird things like a snake or an alligator. NO CAN’T DO. I don’t cook regularly but I have learned to cook by seeing my mother. So maybe I will bring you recipes and tips to know for a beginner.

7. Watching Reaction Videos – I know this is a weird thing I do. I watch reaction videos on YouTube, it all started with Jaby Koay channel back in 2016. I was hooked to it because this was something new - a foreigner was reacting to Bollywood stuff and I wanted to know what their reviews were. I was also hooked to it because it was as if we were watching it together but me at my home and them at their place. We watched several web series together. ‘Our Stupid Reaction’ is a more recent channel I like to watch coz they have a background in theatre and I like to hear them talk technical kinds of stuff.

Okay. then let's start. Wish me luck :)
